I teach English at a secondary modern school in France (in basse normandie/orne) and I also teach special needs kids (and "younglings" :) at 3 nursery schools) This site (thank you Victor) is a mine of useful stuff. If anyone has been teaching kids with disabilities I would love to share ideas! BTW, I have written a small guide on dyslexia on this site

the time (clock designed for a dyslexic child)
I designed this clock and the exercise with it for a dyslexic child at my school. I ended up handing it out to all my pupils and they seemed to grasp the time really quickly. hope it helps you too.

today�s calendar
this ws works well if laminated and given to the kids at the beginning of a lesson. they fill in the days, the month and season but also get to ask each other questions as a daily ritual in class. I got the idea from a poster I bought for my classroom : today�s calendar from Chartmedia. It is really different but the gist is the same.
