Students get some rules for the past tense of regular verbs by linking the base form with the past. They just have to notice the shapes. Then they form the past of some verbs by following what they have practised.

Sentences to cut up and practise the present perfect
Each pair of students receives a strip of paper. They have to write a dialogue such as:
-I�ve had lunch with Alicia Keys.
-So what? I�ve had dinner with Madonna.
-That�s nothing! I�ve had them both eating at home.
-Wow!
They can also try a dialogue with questions. Have you ever had lunch with Alicia Keys? -No way! But I would like to. -Me too...
