Nicole Kidman Biography Simple Past Tense
This is a simplified gap-fill exercise using the biography of Nicole Kidman. I removed the verbs in the simple past tense and the students therefore have to understand the meanings of the verbs as well as use them in the past. I used this in a Theme of Australia and famous people from Australia.

This is quite a good introduction to the 1st and 2nd conditional. I had my students listen to the song and fill in the gaps, then we discussed the different forms of the 1st and 2nd conditional. This song went down well with my younger students aged about 10 and 11. We were studying food vocabulary and I just lightened up the lesson with a song. Song: The cat came back.
