            Opposite Adjectives Maze

The goal is to get through the maze in 10 moves. You can do it as a team race if you like. The students move through the maze by finding the opposite pairs. They can move horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Its really for pre-int or above, or a strong elementary class. Enjoy.

A reading plus activity suggestions and worksheet for the past simple (regular and irregular verbs). Ive used it with teens and adults, pre-intermediate and above. Its a funny story and pretty easy to get ideas from.

            Present Simple Sentence Auction

This worksheet can be used on its own or with a common game known as "sentence auction". Students bet on the sentences that they think are gramatically correct. If they are right, they get some (fake) money. If not, they lose the money. The rules are explained more in the worksheet. Really fun!

First Conditional gap fill and sentence match

A gap fill and sentence matching exercise. For the sentence matching, you just cut out the sentence halves and the students work alone or in pairs to match the halves together to form complete sentences. Another idea is to give each student one half of a sentence and they have to find the student in the class with the other half.

A fun activity for elementary and above, pretty much all ages. It involves getting students to discuss future plans as they must describe what they are going to do with the object on their cards. They answer the question: "Why have you got a ___ in your bag?" -- Because Im going to... It can be adapted for other tenses as well. Its really fun...
