Readers� Theater for the story Mortimer by Robert Munsch
I use very simple props, such as a teddy bear for Mortimer, an apron for the mother, a necktie for the father, cardboard hats for the policemen, and I have large size cardboard paper dolls for the brothers and sisters to carry to make up the huge number.
I get all of the kids to make the sound effects, and to sing along with Mortimer.
