Idiomatic Collocations, exaggeration.
This is a very simple "join the words" collocation exercise. Can be used to discuss vocabulary both together and separately. Remember that the "fast" in "fast asleep" comes from �to fasten� as in something which is fixed and secure... not as in "quickly" which is often assumed by students.

How can you tell?
Here is a 2-page collection of occasions for using �tell�. I give it to my students to study and ask me questions about it. They practise intonation for meaning. Then I cut up the first two columns and rows and ask the students to put them together again. I expect you can think of other ways of using the sheets! Enjoy!
