CHILD SOLDIERS : the film BLOOD DIAMOND
A lesson-plan to understand what is meant by Child Soldiers in 3 phases. First the discovery of a visual document, a cover page showing a child soldier, in order to introduce the topic and find out what is known about it. The second phase is basically a response to the question : how do you transform a normal, loving boy into a killing machine? through the study of passages from the film BLOOD DIAMOND. And the third phase is group work on what is being done today to help former child soldiers.
