Missing software?

Hello everyone!
Let s pretend I ve been looking over your work and have become insanely
envious. Okay, I ll level with you. I AM insanely envious. I really
want to try my hand at this stuff, but I think I m missing some key
ingredients. I only have Microsoft Office XP. Can anyone tell me
which programs they have been using? If it s Microsoft Word: which
version? Are there additional "add-ons" that I may need to purchase? I have a feeling I may need some artistic program...or possibly talent for that matter. :)
Thanks. And...Wow!!

Hi!
Most of ws here are prepared using only Microsoft Word, and to upload here your work must be in word old version. If you have word 2007, you have to convert it before uploading. Some members change their works into pics and then paste into an word document, but the majority here use only word.
The first time I saw their work here I was amazed (and still are...) but if you download wss from some great members here (I won t tell their names because I m afraid of forgetting someone...) you ll learn a lot with them. Little by little you ll build your own style here.
Go ahead, we re eager to see your work!
Just a note: if you use too many pics your document may be too heavy to upload here, I recommend the program irfanview, you can download it for free and can easily find it googling.
Have a nice Wednesday!

I use MS Word 2003 with Office 2003. I also use Open Office Draw to make some of the graphics and layout. Everything gets placed into a MS Word .doc file prior to uploading. Make sure it is .doc and not .docx.

thanks you guys! One last question: (I promise) Is there a clipart database that you use? Some of you have these neat cartoon images and I have no idea where you got them. :)

Hi Andrew, some of those amazingly gifted teachers here have posted tutorials which will really help you create some great wss. ( I personally haven t taken advantage of those yet....) but I m sure you ll find them very helpful! Just type in "tutorial" in the search box on the main page .

Hi!
Of course, using Microsoft Word properly is very important... But I must say that I believe in patience and dedication... To some people it takes a few weeks to learn - to others months...
I started very slowly and now... it s going quite well!!! Oh no, I m not on the same level as the "stars" of the site - I haven t tried powerpoints or online exercises yet - but I found something I enjoy to do - and I get such positive feedback!
Be patient, learn from what you see around you, develop your own style and believe me - you ll get there. Dont be "envious": envy wont get you there - patience will!!
Best of luck,
Aimee
