CAN ANYBODY HELP ME? WHY DOES THE WORD HALLOWEEN HAS AN APOSTROFE?
IN AMERICAN ENGLISH IT DOESN�T SEEM TO HAVE THIS APOSTROFE, BUT IT SEEMS TO HAVE IN BRITISH ENGLISH... IS IT SOMETHING PARTICULAR TO THE BRITISH LANGUAGE?

Hi:))
The word Hallowe�en should have an apostrophe because it is two words - it�s short for Hallowed Evening. It should always be spelt with an apostrophe but most people have dropped the apostrophe nowadays. |

It is the short for all hallows� eve( all saints� eve ), so it should be written with an apostrophe! I hope my answer can help you. Marieth�
