Fruit is the overall description and fruits refers to individual types and names of fruit. We can say: Fruit is good for you but I have different fruits in my fridge - oranges, plums, grapes, etc. |

I wouldn t say I have fruits in the fridge- but I have a lot of fruit in the fridge or there are lots of different fruits in the fridge or many different kinds of fruit in the fridge.

Furit or fruits can both be used in the plural form. Refer Webster s New World Dictionary. Whenever, I get some doubt, I usually refer to this dictionary which is intalled in the hard disk of my computer. Thanks for the enquiry. from Sukhdev, Hyderabad
