"Peer Communication" as an elective subject in high school (USA)

Hello everybody,

again I rely on your generous and kind help.
Has anyone ever heard of a school subject (an elective) called "Peer Communication" in American High Schools?
I m looking for examples and for a curriculum of this subject but don t seem to find any. Hope someone out there can help.
Thanks in advance
Dorothea

Dear Dorothea,
I am glad the system of points for helping others and suggested by Victor  hasn t been accepted because I would be of NO USE!!!LOL

I can send you a PDF file from EBSCO (a researcher database) if you email me an email address.

I can t send you the link from here, because there is a password/username to it.

Have you tried ERIC? www.eric.ed.gov/ there is plenty of material on the subject, such as:

Peer Interaction and Writing Development in a Social Studies High School Classroom (ED505545) (very recent one)

Here We Go ´Round and ´Round: A Process of Peer Evaluation (EJ839128) (very recent one)

An Exploratory Analysis of Communication in Peer-Directed Educational Discourse (EJ845752) (very recent one)

In ERIC, there are 3691 articles on the subject.

Since you mentioned its a school subject, I wonder if you mean peer communication or, more specifically, peer tutoring or peer mentoring.

There are also many books on the subject such as E.E. Gordons Peer Tutoring: A Teachers Resource Guide.

THAT was really helpful and will get me started, thank you so much, aftab57 and nikadixon.
I´m still interested in more links to High Schools.

How wonderful to be able to rely on such a large, helpful community. What  privilege to be a member ...
