Thinking about great resources from the National Geographic Website.
They have added a page where you can make your own movies and add your own captions, music, sound effects and animal clips. It is extremely cool.
Each movie clip you make is 1 minute long.
You can do one as a demonstration - then have the kids create one as an assessment tool for your work on animals, verbs, adjectives, present continuous, future, anything really.
FREE OF COURSE!!!
Also - here is the kids page link -
http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/ It has some awesomely fun science experiments guaranteed to get kids talking in any language! also fantastic fact pages. If you print the animal collectors cards you will find the information is very brief and easy for esol students to understand. The fact pages have mapsand all sorts.
NG is fantastic for teachers wanting to teach english through the use of themes and creative thinking rather than solely grammar and worksheet based.
