Grammar Question~ Please help me.
|
According to all the Korean-made grammar books in my school:
It is natural that she dislikes him. (is incorrect)
It is natural that she dislike him. (is correct)
But according to Microsoft Word the opposite is true.
I really need some feedback on this asap. Dose anyone know which is correct and which is not?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Check here. http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/verbs-subjunctive.htm. It is a subjunctive sentence :
The subjunctive is typically used after two structures:
the expressions: it is desirable, essential, important, necessary, vital + that
Hope it helps. M Word spelling is limited to a number of rules. do not always trust it!!!! D

Of course , the first one is the correct one. The second is incorrect, in my opinion.

Just remember that:
I, you, we, they...No s (also two people ie. Bill and Tom)
All the rest you need the s on every verb! |

Number two is correct.
With the subjunctive we use as if it is a plural.
Examples:
- I suggest that he study.
- Is it essential that we be there?
- Don recommended that you join the committee.

Well, my Word program accepts both it just suggests the other as an option.
Both sentences are correct. I think it depends on how it is being used.
It s natural that she dislikes him. He is her biggest enemy!
It s natural that she dislike him. He used to called her fatty.
