Teachers, I �m writing an essay as a requirement for my M.A. application. The topic is current issues in teaching/(learning) English to speakers of other languages.

These are the most recent issues that i have been reading about recently.
1) The effectivness of CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning).
2) Normalization of CALL.
3) Diffrentiation in classrooms, can we really do it as teachers?

These were my greatest when I did my MA in TESOL in N. Y ;
* Language games in the classroom.
* Use of Visual Aids in ESL lteaching
* Use of ICT in ESL
* Use of L1 vsL2 in the classroom
* Motivating Adult ESL learners

I don �t remember the official name of it, but there is currently a movement that is working with the concept of "mixed-level" classes. These are mixed classes that consist of beginner, intermediate, and advanced speakers. The concept is that beginners wil learn from the better speakers and the better speakers gain confidence and a better understanding by explaining to the beginners (something like that).
