Prepositions problem!!!
|
Im confused now and I need your help.
Whats better? This is the best day in my life or this is the best day of my life?
I would say of my life cause that is what Ive learnt from songs... but which is grammatically better?
Ive already joined the group on FACEBOOK!
Thanks!!!

"of" is the correct option.

Thanks Zora, but then, dont you say "hes the best student in the class" or even "Shes the best teacher in the world?" I only need to know why.
Thank you

Yes, we do say that...but the difference here would be "in my life" would mean the same as "during my lifetime" whereas "of my life" refers to a specific moment in your life.
I hope that helps clarify things a bit.

I think that "this is the best day in my life" is the correct answer
