a threat is something that is potentially dangerous, but not definitely or directly affecting you yet - it can also be the expression of the intention to cause harm to someone.; a hazard is an apparent/known obstacle to one ´s intended course of action, plan or outcome; a peril is to be in a state of danger where there is potential for loss or damage; and a risk is a course of action, with an uncertain outcome, where you may lose more than you gain.
These of course are very general & there are many, many grey areas involved when you look at degrees of intent & risk involved. There are also other definitions that are dependent upon the paradigm with which the terms are used.
I highly recommend checking out a reasonable online dictionary as a minimum, maybe something like http://www.thefreedictionary.com/
It would be easy to write a small essay on the different usage & meanings of the words as they are used in different situations & in different grammatical forms.
