I would say that a career is a more general category. My career is teaching. My job is Oral English at Liaoning Normal University. |

Hi, I liked the idea of a ladder to represent �career �. For example, career refers to a job or profession that you have been trained for and that you hope to do most of your life. So for example, a career in teaching would be... first you are a primary teacher, then you become a kindergarten teacher, then maybe you become a high school teacher and in this way you have done a career in teaching. Maybe it can be said that a career refers to all the jobs you have had related to one particular profession. I don �t know if I am clear :) |

Hi Floona, I am not a hundred percent sure, I am not a native speaker of English, but I am telling you this to the best of my knowlegde and I have looked it up in the dictionary but it is not that clear. Maybe you can ask someone else :) |
