Could you tell me if the word "bean" is countable or uncountable in English? Thanks!

umm well .... Jack swopped his cow for 4 magic beans ...
has beans ... was beans ... still is beans ... cans of beans .. tins of beans ... packet ... carton .. bottle of beans ... bean soup .. bean wine .. don t care what it s been ... what is it now??
make a ws about beans ... everyone can then download beans ... we ll make enough windy beans to blow the world of its beany axis !!! ... whadyasay beanface?? ...
in brief .. beans are almost definitely unrefutably countable .. or Jack was nutin but a beany fairy story ...

Reminded me of my favourite English joke:
a customer in the restaurant orders bean soup. Waiter brings the soup. Customer tastes and is not impressed. He calls the waiter back and asks: "Waiter, what is this?? " "It s bean soup, sir." "I m not asking you what it has been, I m asking you what it is now!" |
