Hi,
i ve got a great video of Friends, but the scene I want is just a minute long and I would like to create a new video just with that scene with Windows movie Maker. Do you know how to do that? I couldn t find a tutorial in the printables, but I guess one of you must know how to do that!
Thanks for your help!

You can edit any movie in Windows movie maker. 1. Open windows movie maker 2. go to file, new project 3. click tasks on the bar, capture video, import video. (import your Friends video) 4. Click on your video, it is going to start playing on the black screen on your right. 5. Play the video until the minute you want to split it. Below the black screen you can see two icons on the right side. Use the first one to cut your video. As soon as you cut it, the program generates another video, starting on the point you cut it. 7. click on the new generated video, it is going to appear on the black screen again. Now you have a video with the starting point you want. 8. play this video (on the black screen) until the minute you want it to end. 9. Click on the icon on the right, to cut it. Now you must have three videos on the big screen on your left. The one you want, must be the second. 10. Drag it to the storyboard, below. 11. Go to File, Save project. Save your project. 12. Go to File, Save Movie file. Once you save it, you can not change this file anymore. But you can go back to your project and redo it. Do not forget to save your project again and publish it again in case you edited it a second or any time. 13. Now you have only the part of the movie you want. You can add effects or audio or mix other images or even slides with questions, observations... whatever you want. Just get used to the program, try different things, and have fun.
I hope it helps you to become the ESL Spielberg. :)) SUlany

Hi, You will probably need to convert the video first as Windows Movie Maker only works with certain kinds of video files. You can use a freeware program called Any Video Converter ( http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/) The program is really easy to use and you can convert the file to WMV which works with Movie Maker. (Be aware if you have an old computer like mine it may take a long time to convert.) Then all you have to do is follow the steps in the post above.

Another way of converting your video is to right click on the file, then write mpeg on the extension. For instance, if it is .VOB, write .mpeg. And the video is converted. Although the experts say this alternative makes your video lose quality, it usually works for me. Cheers from chilli Seoul. S.
