Dear all,
I have recently attended a workshop conducted by Paul Harvey, an English teacher trainer at the British Council, and I was amazed at what simple drama material could do to motivate and engage students.Very simple dialogues and roleplays to instill grammar structures in students minds.Look at this example to teach can-can t:
A: Help me!
B: I cant.
A: Please.
B: No
A: Why?
B: Because.
A: Because what?
B: Because I cant.
A: Why cant you?
B: Because its impossible
A: But.
B: Look, Im very sorry but I cant help you.
A: Please, please, please
B: No, no, no!
A: No
B: No
A: Oh. Oh dear, oh dear.(Walks away)
B: Wait
A :( Turns around) Yes?
B: OK
A: Really?
B: Yes.
A: You can?
B: Yes. I can
A: Oh, thank you, thank you thank you!
