Vocabulary: get monkey = get mad?

Hi, I �ve just heard watching a movie "My compass got monkey". I assumed it meant "got mad" but, when I looked it up in my urban dictionary, it said something about getting high on drugs. Did I heard right? Is the expression correct meaning also "getting mad"? Is it commonly used?

lol... it�s "get all wonky"! It means to go crazy... the compass started probably spinning or pointing the wrong way.
