Have you tried ENGLISH, BABY! ?

HELLO, all
I bumped into this site: http://sp.englishbaby.com/
According to the site s membership policy (see below), mebership is free but if you read (d) you learn that "English, baby! bills you through an online account" It s confusing Is it free or not?

Membership Policy:

(a) Membership. You may become a Member of the Service at no cost. As a Member, you will have the ability to participate in some, but not all, of the features and services available within the Service.

(b) Super Membership. In order to access additional features and services, including the ability to download and print our Lessons, you must become a Super Member to the Service for a monthly fee of $5. The first $5 will be charged at the time of subscription, then again on the same day every month thereafter.

(c) Term. This Agreement will remain in full force and effect while you use the Website and/or are a Member. You may terminate your membership and/or Super Membership at any time, for any reason, by using the cancel link in My Ebaby. After receiving notice of Super Membership cancellation, charges will immediately stop and your Super Membership will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund for the remaining portion of the month.

(d) General. English, baby! bills you through an online account (your "Billing Account") for use of the Service. You agree to pay English, baby! charges at the prices then in effect for any use of the Service by you or other persons using your Billing Account, and you authorize English, baby! to charge your chosen payment provider (your "Payment Method") for the Service. You agree to make payment using that selected Payment Method.

Thanks for helping me out!
Regards

I think it s quite clear. You can get some of the site s stuff for free, but if you want it all (some sites call it upgrade), you ll pay a fee. Many language learning sites operate like this. They target anyone wanting to learn a new language (not just teachers). The idea is to sign up and make some online member-friends who can mutually correct each others online exercises. Its much more engaging than learning a new language on your own with a CD-rom. Its some kind of social networking. Theres an interesting article about this here.
