Dear friends,
I was preparing an exercise using WH questions and a doubt has come up.
How can I explain/differenciate de use of WHICH and WHAT in questions?
Thanks in advance

For me, which gives the choice between two objects ; what between more : Which one do you prefer ? The red one or the blue one? What do you prefer? Maths, English, French... I hope it helps. |

Which isn t limited to two choices. Rather, it gives the choice from specified items, and "what" is more open-ended.
At a buffet, you might ask, "Which food is your favorite?", since the items to choose from are displayed.
In general, you could ask, "What is your favorite food?"
I hope this helps you.
