I �m at the supermarket?
With places we use at, right? I can say I �m at school, at home,...

As far as I know, this is it...
I �m at the supermarket. means you �re close to it, perhaps in front, perhaps at the parking lot, it �s like saying let �s meet at the supermarket - approximate, you don �t really define the exact spot.
I �m in the supermarket. means you �re inside it, probably shopping already. |

The explanation above sounds absolutely logical but as a native speaker I would say even if you are "in" the supermarket you can use "at". If someone called me on my cell and asked me where I was, I would say, "I �m at the supermarket." I think they are used interchangeably. :)
