I �m working on a translation and there are some words and expressions which are really getting on my nerves!!!!!jajaja
The words and expressions are typical Argentine expressions so if there �s anyone out there who can help me pleaseeeeee dooooo!!!!! So ...what �s the english for...???
-empanadas -trucho -esto me paso por encima -se te nota en la piel -Yo soy del �40.

Hi al2018! It seems you have a difficult one! Let me try my best... though I �m not sure.... Empanadas: meat turnovers... that �s what I �ve seen in the US trucho: fake? Esto me paso por encima:... I �m not sure what the phrase means... can you help with the context? se te nota en la piel: same thing... I �m not sure about the context! Hope it helps!! |

-me paso por encima: it means that something was too difficult for you to handle, or that you couldn �t do anything about that. It �s more than you can handle, something like that.
By the way, got one more for you...
-no te olvides de los pobres: this expression means that you shoudn �t forget about the people who was by your side when you were going through difficult times once you get rich or famous in life.

A note on empanada.... These things don�t exist in Britain, so we don�t have a direct translation. A pasty is quite different (and less tasty!).
