I came across this poem a long time ago by Charlotte Zolotow and I keep repeating it and saying it to all my dear friends on special occasions. And as today is a very, very special occasion and as I think you all are wondeful people I want to share this with you
People
Some people talk and talk and never say a thing. Some people look at you and birds begin to sing.
Some people laugh and laugh and yet you want to cry. Some people touch your hand and music fills the sky.
May all of you have such people around you loving and caring!
Beautiful poem! It reminds me of another that I read in school.
The Heart of a Friend
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend. by H. W. Longfellow
Happy
Valentines Day to all you lovely people at ESL Printables!
