who can give me a definite explanation? go in for sports - is an old expression out of use now? Is it true?

Go in for sports is not that common but you still hear it used.
And in the newspaper means it�s an article/ad/etc that is part of the paper and you can read or look at.
On the newspaper would mean something is being placed on top of it... a vase, a rock, etc... |
