what is the english for..

hi dear friends,
your help is needed again..
there is a game that we all used to play when we were little kids.. I mean little girls.. unless boys do play such games, too!!
any why, it is a game in which we used to imagine ourselves as big girls, having houses, cooking food, preparing coffee...etc.. I m not sure if I made myself clear enough .. but can anyone tell me what do we call this game in English!!
thanks in advance..

Yes, here in North America, it is called "playing house." Boys definitely don t play it much, unless coerced by an older sister, or if there is NOTHING else in the world for them to do.

I agree with the "play house" from a North American POV. Perhaps the Brits/NZ and Aussies have another name. "Let s play house." Kate is playing house. Mommy, I want to play house. They are playing house using a blanket set over a table.
