Hi Miss Manal
There is no symbol. You write, for instance, �� 1.25 � (one pound and twenty-five pence). The numbers you write after the �. � are pence/pennies. It �s all in the way you write your numbers. You use � to tell people that your currency is the pound. � is used for euros. $ is used for US dollars.

we write �p � after anything which is less than a pound. 15p, 23p, 76p, 99p. After that we don �t use anything.
