We learn/teach it as `at the weekend`. However, volga has a very good point there, if I may say so. |

As a US native speaker, I usually say/hear "on the weekend", but sometimes "over" or "during".

Hi..In British language, they say "at the weekend".American people tend to say "on the weekend".

In Canada we use � �on the weekend � �. Rarely do we use � �at the weekend � �. |

Well, we use both, and both are correct.
US English is usually �on � and BE is usually �at �. English is so global now, with TV and movies etc, that they are almost interchangable. �Over � and "during � are also used but not as frequently.
