A pedicurist and manicurist take care of the cosmetic side, while a
podiatrist are doctors who look at the feet but also ankle and lower
leg, generally diseases, trauma and so on...
In the UK there s also "Foot Health Practitioner" who is something in
between, taking care of the basic and referring onwards to a podiatrist
where necessary.
I m not sure what a hand doctor is called though, an orthopedist will
probably take care of that stuff?

If you mean in the beauty industry where you can get fancy fake/acrylic nails, which are popular (in Europe anyway) and have their own special salons. The people working there are called Nail Technicians.

Douglas has it got spot on. While fitters of false nail may well be Nail Technicians, (Im not sure whats technical about it though) manicurist work on your hand nails and a pedicurist works on the nails on your feet.
Enjoy. |

Here, the term manicurist is out and nail technician is in. This job does both manicures and pedicures. To read more about this [thriving] occupation in Oz click here
... and, sometimes the informal word used in Oz instead of nail technician is nail artist. |
