a doubt

Hello!
I m a bit confused as I want to use a nice expression for a ws about writing skills and I wanted to use an expression like " Sharpen your pencils!" to mean something like "get ready to write" but now I found it has another meaning totally different for sales, so I don t know if I m doing right using that expression as a title for a writing...what do you think? Have you got any other ideas? thanks in advance!

You could use "put pen to paper" instead.
Hope it helps
