Hello everyone! I need some help with the following sentence:
Many TV shows are duplicates of those of other foreign countries �
Is the possessive case at the end correct? |

No, as it �s not related to possessive.
Your sentence should be :
"Many TV shows are duplicates of those of other foreign countries."
as "Countries" is a plural of country on that case

How about, �of those from other countries�. And are they duplications or are they translated?
In that case you might say; �Many local TV shows are translations of those from other countries�.
Or �translated from those of other countries�.

To answer the first question... "yes" it is needed. It is not simply a plural form. It �s the plural and the possessive form.
The full sentence would be:
Many TV shows are duplicates of those of
other foreign countries � programs/shows. - this part is not necessary though because it is understood and would be considered repetitive if added on.

You don �t need the possessive ( �) here. Possession is indicated by of. Dennismychina �s suggestions are also correct.
