Worksheets - Content is important or looks matter a lot?
|
Hello Everybody,
This is the first time I m writing in the forum. Well, I wish to say that these days having a lot of pictures and backgrounds on the worksheets definitely makes them appealing but I feel that the font and formatting in this situation is very difficult to manage and if you upload ur worksheet without any graphics no one downloads it though the matter is good. Please think about it. Are we making English worksheets or art activities?????????

This subject has been discussed here many times !!!
I don t see the need to go over it once again.
People howm prefer creating colorful ws have that right.
colorful ws doesn t mean content has less interest and Vice versa ....
Good day

Making black and white ws that are visually appealing is much, much harder than using bold colors to attract attention, Divinity.
Please don t think that people don t want you to express your opinion, it seems we have simply had too many of these discussions and to no avail...don t despair..live and learn ;o)

Everytime I see a thread complaining about the colourful printables, I feel like starting a new one to complain about the plain ones just to annoy people. (Yes, I am in a really great mood today... don t get fooled by the tone)
No one, absolutely no one, is forcing a member to download a colourful printable. Everytime I go in the recent contributions, I am amazed by the variety of printables: plain and colourful. Both categories have quality and great exercises. Colourful does not mean cheap and useless and they are more than art. They serve a purpose for a certain group of students.
Please people, please please please: you should be happy for the variety and the styles. Why complain? Embrace the choices you have and pick what you need because it s free.
Happy Sunday! Greetings from Canada!

Hi , hello, everyone
I ve just got a few minutes, before going again to the kitchen.
I have always defended that this is a big, big, store. So, each one of us arrives in , looks around and picks what he/she finds more useful/ attractive.
I love colour, but I also love black and white - black olives and cool white wine. Yummmmmyyyy.

I don t think Divinity is complaining.
I think she is expressing disappointment.
She will learn what makes "us" tick. Give her a break and don t scare her away and do not bring an avalanche of rage over her because you have misinterpreted her posting.
It isn t her fault that she picked the wrong topic for discussion here. We all live and learn. And some stick to their guns ;o)

There is such a thing as "train the trainer." The way we react to "unspectacular" ws isn t very encouraging for new users.

Dear Divinity, for your worksheets it s important what you think. Personally, I have always believed content and design go together, hand in hand, and one without the other just doesn t cut it. (Even food tastes better when it looks lovely, dont you think?) But everyone is entitled to their own opinion - there is so much to choose from here at ESL that you can always find what you re interested in. And if a colourful ws really catches your eye with its content, it s worth suffering making the changes you need (just be happy it s editable)! Bye |
