HOW DO YOU SAY GOLEADA IN ENGLISH?
|
Hi nice people! D o you know how to say "goleada" in English, I couldnt find the word so far, When I say goleada I mean the big difference in the number of goals that one team scores over another. e.g. Argentina won 4-1 against North Korea. That is something that here we call "goleada" because there is a big difference of goals. Thanks a lot in advance |

When talking about a severe defeat in terms of a sports event, one can use the term slaughter...as in "Australia slaughtered N. Korea," or even kill. "Australia killed N. Korea." Of course the terms are used here in the figurative sense, not literal. |

Slaughter is ok but thrash is more commonly used in Australia e.g. Germany thrashed Australia 4 to 1. |
