Which literature books do you use at your school?  We use �The Silver Sword � and �Jane Eyre � for students aged 12-13.  Younger students have short stories called �Don �t Make Me Laugh � which they also enjoy.  It would be nice to compare what is being covered in various places..

this year I used a simplified version of the Canterville Ghost with students of that age.
They liked it very much!

The books that I loved and wholeheartedly recommend are:

"Expensive People" (by Joyce Carol Oates)
"The Stranger" (by Albert Camus)
"Prayers for Bobby" (by Leroy Aarons)

and as regards short stories, I think that "The Nightingale and The Rose" (by Oscar Wilde) is superb...

We use penguin Readers and MacMillan readers - The Count of Monte Cristo, Lorna Doone, The Three Musketeers, Tales from Shakespeare, Sherlock Holmes...
