Do you say "heavy snow" or "severe snow? Then "heavy thunderstorm" or "severe thunderstorm"?

We use heavy snow or snowfall or severe storms. Not sure about the thunderstorm.

However, it īs not the the use of heavy or severe would be incorrect, but just not widely used. The above are the "normally" associated word choices.
