Punctuation
|
An English teacher wrote the words:
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

I agree only with the second one. Incorrect punctuation at the first one. Check Swan! (Swan the wife!!)

Very funny!I also prefer the second one!By the way, punctuation in the English language can be very tricky! |

Funny! It reminds me of a class ( 14 -year-old ones ) who tended to think that punctuation was NOT useful at all...I kept struggling when marking their papers!! Sooooo, I gave them an English text - as a comprehension task - , after removing all the punc. marks...
They changed their minds!

Be fair
it s all right with both. it depends on the state of mind, the feelings and the gender of the writer at the time of punctuation. |
