Hello everyone,

I have recently heard the word interesting pronounced in a new way - with the stress on interesting. I have always known that we stress the first syllable but now I am confused - is the new variant also correct?

Well, the Merriam Webster Dictionary has two ways to say it and the Free Dictionary has 3!... so I would say "yes" Smile

Thank you, dear Linda! I must have consulted the wrong dictionaries, e.g. Macmillan does not mention any other way except the traditional.
