surface?

Hello my dear colleagues

I m struggling with a sentence and was hoping to get your advice:

The minimum stand exhibition surface is 10 m and the maximal exhibition surface is 60 m.

Somehow it sounds weird me and I m not sure about the word "surface" since it seems to be just translated from the french surface, but I don t know if it has the same meaning in the 2 languages. What is meant is actually the area of a stand in an exhibition. Do you have any idea if this sentence is correct?
Thanks a lot for all your help:)

Sara

Hi, Sara! :))

What about "space" or "area"?? Sounds better to me.

Edit: I know that you speak German, so just think of how you would translate the word (Ausstellungs-)"Flche" into English. ;))

Silke,
"Space" sounds good. We might also say "exhibition area".

lol wow, Silke, that you remember that ;) :).
Space was also what I was thinking of, but talking to my colleague here who was convinced that surface stays surface, he made me insecure. Thanks a million :)

Big hugs

The minimum exhibition stand area is 10 m and the maximal exhibition stand area is 60 m. But as we already know that it an exhibition stand were talking about it isnt necessary to repeat exhibition. Me thinks.

Enjoy.

Dear Dennis,

What exactly are we supposed to enjoy? Your lovely explanation?? Wink

Sometimes I really wonder what this phrase "Enjoy!" really means.

Enjoy your day!! Big smile

You could also say, "The minimum surface area of the exhibition stands are 10m2... "

Cheers,

Linda
