I have a problem: I could not find in any of my grammar books the correct answer for this sentence The lake is .................... from this place than the hill.
a) more south, b) more southern, c) souther.
Please help me, even if it sounds silly. I don t know whether is a) or b).
Thank you!

Hi There!
Two possibles here.
answer b) more southern----

i hope this helps. |

I agree,
b) "more southern" is technically correct as "southern" is the adjective, whereas "south" is the noun, but in fact the answer should be:
d) "further south"!! This is much more in-line with naturally spoken English.
Have a good day.
