Translation "oyente"

Hello everyone, I wonder if anyone can help me . I m writing a letter for a university and would like to know how you d translate the term "estudiante oyente" o "asistir como oyente" (a clases). I thought of "occasional student"or "uregistered student" but don t know if it s correct.
Sorry to bother on a Sunday! Good afternoon and thank you ! |

In the US, we say that the student is "auditing the class" (officially in the class, but not receiving credit for it. The fee for the class is usually lower in this case).

Thank you so much Bruce ! The letter is intended for a university in Canada, so I guess "auditing" is the most suitable word, as I ve read "occasional" is mostly used in the UK.
PS ... I was hoping you d answer !! ;-) |
