Well anorexia is eating nothing......so basorexia is eating the bas or bottom.
Basorexia: This is the scientific name given to a species of bottom feeders which live on the ocean floor and feed on material which has drifted to the bottom. |

There �s a spelling mistake, Frank... 
It must be "vasorexia", and that �s a very dangerous disease!  It makes you eat (uncooked) vases only, which will cause your death in approximately 3 weeks. |

Well in Russian �bas � is a low voice.
So Basorexia to my mind is a students � disease which makes them stop eating, cheating, chatting in class when they suddenly hear their teacher talking in a low voice.  |

So, on the contrary it �s the uncontrollable DESIRE for the double bass! |

Now let me see... I think it is the desire of someone to return to his/her base (home) , something like homesickness, since
bas~ base
-orexia= apetite in Greek

sounds reasonable to me!
Though, like Anita, the thought depesses me;
I would prefer the poor person to be yearning for being kissed.
Maybe with an insatiable appetite, as a tribute to our Greek members.
