Please, I came up with that idiom and I cannot find out the meaning. Would anyone tell me?

I ve never heard it before, sounds like someone translated an idiom from another language into English...

Not in that form, but if it s:
a) head to your hometown = start going back there,
b) head your hometown (as in a leader)= become a mayor in your hometown...
still sounds off without context....

I agree with Anita without the full context it is hard to say what that might mean.

The only things that makes sense are:

*"to be the mayor/ leader of your town"
Peter is head of your hometown.

*"to  lead or point" your hometown in a certain direction.
i.e. Peter headed his town toward new ways to recycle.

* "to be first in something*
Peter heads your hometown in its contest to plant trees. Hes already planted 50!

unless the word is "heed" vs "head--which would mean to listen to or do what your hometown says
