Farewell to the Arms

Sonn
Russian Federation

I consulted other dictionaries and the word "arms" is used in word  expressions such as  "with open arms" and "I held her in my arms", "take s.o. in one s arms" etc. , meaning " to hug" (Oxford and others). So the meaning of the word "arms" there is not "weapon" or "hugs", but "upper limb", "open arms ready to hug s.o." So Bruce and Lindsey are right. Smile
