wh question!!
|
Hi,
Today i ve asked a question, i thank all who s answered it, but i think i am misunderstood and still haven t got the right answer yet.
OK, trying to ask it again. I have a clause. It is;
"Your first task is to tidy your room."
How can i ask the underlined word with a wh question?
I mean that when you underline "your", the question is:
Whose first task is to tidy my room?
When you underline "to tidy your room", then you should ask:
What is your first task?
Please please help me!!! |

Can you try with: WHAT TASK DO YOU DO AS SOON AS YOU GET UP? |

If you need to use the words from the original sentence, what about:
What priority do you give to the task of tidying your room? |

I think the most appropriate one is what ballycastle1 suggested. However, I can t help wondering, is this a common way of speaking daily-life English? Why should a teacher of English ask such a question which even native speakers find difficult to answer? I guess the teacher who asked this thought in Turkish, s/he directly translated from Turkish to English and now has got difficulties translating the word "kacinci", which we use to ask about ordinal numbers. The thing is that, English does not have an equivalent of this word. |
