What does is mean when you call someone a "muppet"? Is it a reference to the Muppet Show (Sesame Street) or is there another meaning?

thanks and have a nice Sunday!

Muppet is street English for "you idiot". It is derived from the muppet show but it evolved into a mild insult.

I hope this explanation helps
