Please follow this link if you are interested in teaching past or present tense verbs particularly connected to daily routine.  It is a clip from a popular american film groundhog day which worked really well with my students.  Feel free to comment and forward any other good clips you have used to teach some of the less interesting topics.
Another good site to encourage speaking in all langauges is www.voki.com It is great fun for the pupils to create their own characters and on my blog under the section Year 8 vokis there are examples of pupil work.
