Word of the Day

Dear all,
Allow me to quote Idthemagicman:

* It is a GAME to promote interest in language, (similar to games for our students).
* It is an activity in which Members can PARTICIPATE or not, as they wish.
* It causes us to THINK about a word.
* It increases our VOCABULARY and knowledge.
* It encourages CO-OPERATION between Members.
* It teaches about HUMOUR, an essential aspect of human communication.
* It permits  nervous Members to make a CONTRIBUTION, without fear of ridicule.
* It bestows the HONOUR of recognition upon a person, a far-off homeland, and its language.
* It encourages FRIENDSHIP.
* It is FUN.

Thank you cauffeepot for choosing me.

So, today s word is:

PANDICULATION

Remember, no cheating -  Make up your own definition. Be daring! Unleash your creativity!

Hugs,

Gabitza

Pandiculation...Yes, that is a very serious condition:

pand < short form of panda (to fit the compound word)
iculation< short form of articulation (to fit the compound word)

So, pand-iculation is a very rare condition...People who suffer from it articulate words like pandas, which pretty much sounds like this...It s so sadCry

Are you sure it is "pandiculation" and not "pandaculition"? It it were the latter I would say it was a panda s attempt to improve its articulation of voiced glottal fricative sounds of English, gone bad, of course ;o)))) A pandaesque cul-de-sac.

If it is the former, it must be another word for assistance horse Pandas job, which is avoiding and guiding her owner around obstacles, so no Panda-collision but, pandiculation ;o)))

pan - a wide metal vessel used in cooking
di - from Greek, means two, twice
culation - comes from calculation

Pandiculation = check twice if you have all ingredients you need for cooking!!!

Pandiculation I agree it should be panticulation
Pant like pants
i: Spanish for "and"
cul : sorry but it is the French word for bottom
ation : suffixe like in gesticulation

So altogether it means ants in your pants!
