even though vs even if
|
hi everyone,
My students get always confused when using "even if" and "even though". The point could be that the way or examples I use to explain it are not quite clear because I do not either fully understand it. I would be really grateful if you could explain it to me and give me clear examples for my students. Thanks in advance for your help and time. |

Even though it was raining we went to the zoo yesterday. - Past event - we went despite the rain.
Even though it is raining now, we will still go to the zoo this afternoon. - Planning now for the future-the action will take place.

even if is hypothetical (ie conditional) even though is real.
I ll go out even if it rains. I m going out even though it is raining.
Interesting exercise!
